Writing News

I’ve got some misc. writing news to report. First, my article entitled War Stories is up at Gina Holmes’ Novel Journey site. I enjoy doing the monthly entries for NJ, however I tend to feel I’m rankling her rather erudite crowd. This piece is no exception as it teeters into the realm of politics. Really, Gina’s crowd is way cool, as is she. If you get a chance, spin over to NJ and leave a comment.

CMDPromoCover.jpgAs I announced a while back, my short story “Polly’s Muse” will be published in the forthcoming Coach’s Midnight Diner. The folks at Relief put out a quality mag, so I’m really looking forward to this. Coach has created an interesting feature — a sample size Diner in Adobe. It allows you to view the layout of the mag and read the first couple of pages of each story. Check this out, it’s neat!

Finally, one of my articles will appear in the second issue of Three One Six Journal. They call it A Journal of Christian Thinking, but if they understood my thinking they’d probably retract their offer. My piece is provocatively entitled, “Of Art and Asses.” This will be my first essay in hardcopy, so I’m super jazzed. Don’t know of its release date but I’ll keep y’all informed.

Anyway, buzz on over to Gina’s and check out this month’s entry.

congrats on the various successes! that’s way cool. i got a rejection the other day:) actually haven’t been trying too hard. i’m even feeling apathetic about persuing novel publication. i’m so lazy! after writing it for a year, i ought to at least give it a whirl, eh?

Motivation has been difficult for me too, Janet. This summer we’ve been really busy. When I envision vacations, I think of time lounging, chilling out. But no. This summer we’re all over the place. In fact, I’m writing this from a hotel in Newport Beach, about 4:30 AM, on my laptop, preparing to go deep sea fishing. So much for writing. . .

Anyway, I’m sure the better angels of your nature will transcend the demons of apathy. Thanks for the comments!
