Hi Mike,

Please pray that I can get into CreateSpace and publish my book by Monday, October 31st. I need a miracle, Mike. My computer won't let me in to make changes.

Thanks.

Dear Mike,

Thank you for this blog. I am a graduate student in business with a passion for writing, and many of your posts have gotten me thinking about writing and faith in new ways.

One struggle I have had is how not to idolize writing, and I was wondering if you have anything to share about that. I find that when I really get into writing, I can spend whole days and weeks absorbed in fiction worlds and have a hard time connecting with God or even finding motivation to pray and read the Bible, fellowship with others, etc.

It would be very helpful if you could comment on this!

Hi Mike

I found your blog looking for Christian bloggers with an interest in Speculative Fiction... I find many of your opinions about faith and fiction to be well thought out, challenging and wise/truthful. Look forward to your posts!

Re: today's Novel Rocket article.
Thought provoking article for a Christian author, like myself, to read. When I write a story, one of the main objectives is to let others see Jesus in me. Hopefully, they'll remember how Jillian Bradley responded to a situation in a loving, Christlike manner. Paying for a funeral for the victim when his mother simply could not afford one, taking in an amnesia victim and helping him find answers when he had no one to turn to, and so forth and so on. I didn't even know I was a Christian author until a person left a negative comment on a review, accusing me of not letting my readers know they were reading Christian fiction!

I suppose we should just write from our hearts and let God direct where our words go.

Best regards,

Hello Mike,
This is my first email to you. I've been following you quite some time and enjoy your posts. I was impressed with your frankness about losing your job, whilst continuing to focus on your family and writing, plus taking on a visiting foreign student. I've been there with losing a job before and while it's stressful, I have found that it always turns out for the better. So keep the faith (I know you will), and wishing you all the best in your literary endeavors.
