So this weekend, me and Jon celebrated birthdays. I fired up the barbecue, broke out the skewers, and we polished off a bottle of this. A big bottle. You can blame CD. Though I’m significantly older than Jon, we are so close it’s scary. At least, that’s what Lisa says. Not only is his birthday the day after mine (April 27), he is temperamentally my twin. This has an upside, trust me. The only downside is I’m one year away from 50. Of course, my knees were 50 ten years ago. Anyway, Jon’s a great kid! He’s 22, got a wonderful gal, and is forging a career as a firefighter. And he’s a big fan of this guy. Anyway, we had a great time with friends and family. Happy 22nd Jon!

(And if you look closely, immediately between us, on the refrigerator, is a pic of Theo. . .who will, no doubt, enjoy the festivities one day.)
Happy Birthday old man (and young man.) Mike, you’re a writer; who needs knees? as long as you have your mind and your hands. On second thought the knees come in handy for all the praying..
God bless your year!
What an awesome relationship btw father and son … I love it … and perhaps … Theo will join the two of you in temperment and personality … ohhhh, may God protect Lisa!!! tehehehehehe
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!
Happy B-day, my friend!
Happy Birthday Mike!
Happy Birthday!
50 isn’t sounding quite so old these days *** as we creep closer and closer *** as it used to.

It is pretty awesome for you to have a close relationship with your son. It seems to become a rarity in these days.

That’s such a nice article Mikey! I also think that you and Jon really resemble eachother! 😉
Oh yeah, I would also like to add that it was a great party: good food, good drinks and good people! It was fun!
