This week, my friend and critique partner Merrie Destefano‘s debut novel, Afterlife: The Resurrection Chronicles hits stores. Merrie is a terrific writer and a wonderful person. And her book’s getting some great reviews. I recently had a chance, rather impromptu, to sit down with Merrie and ask her a few questions. Here’s some snippets from that interview.

Good interviews, Mike! Her book really sounds interesting; I think I’ll pick it up. The writing group you’re both a part of sounds like it’s really supportive and is a good staple. That’s important in a writer’s life. Although I don’t have a book about to come out, I can see the benefits of a writing group just in general.
Completely off topic, but has anyone ever told you that you look like the actor Bruce McGill?
Never. I am most often compared to this actor.
